Camp Open Date: Wednesday, June 29 at 3pm

Camp Information: The camp provides restrooms, hot showers, fire pits, covered area for meetings, horse corrals, drinking water for people and horses. (Corrals are assigned in order of the first people who register.)

Course Information: The long course is considered moderate to difficult. Beautiful rolling hills going as high as 6,300 ft. The terrain can be rocky so pads are suggested for your horse. There will be 3 loops. 1st loop is 15 miles, 2nd loop is 8 miles (this is the most difficult part of the race) 3rd loop is 12 miles. Short course and Equathon is not as difficult. There will be 2 vet checks at the same place NOT in camp. We will have a truck to transport crew bags if needed.

Course Maps: Short Course    Loop 1    Loop 2    Loop 3    Equathon

Region Activities:Julian is just 15 minutes away from camp and is well known for their world famous apple pies. Julian was an 1870’s Gold Rush Town and it still looks like it. Great town to walk around, shop, dine and see the history. I went to Julian high school and worked in the Julian Deli which is still there. Viejas Casino and resort is just 27 minutes away from camp and is an amazing place if you like to shop and gamble. You can even get a massage after the championship. Viejas Casino and resort address 5000 Willows rd. Alpine CA 91901 Phone 619-445-5400 Open 24 hours.

Volunteers Wanted:
We will take good care of you. We need you!

Lodging & Accommodations: For those of you who would like to stay Sunday night or come early, there is an equestrian camp down the road at the Green Valley Horse Camp with horse corrals. Please make reservations through Reserve America 1-800-444-7275. Or If you are traveling without a horse there are plenty of places to stay in Julian CA.

Restaurants:There are plenty of good restaurants in Julian. One that I like is in Descanso. The Descanso Junction family Restaurant. (great food, full bar) 8306 Hwy 79, Descanso 1-619-659-2199 10 minutes away. Cuyamaca Restaurant and store: Would be the closest at just 5 minutes away. Address: 15027 CA-79, Julian, CA 5 minutes away 1-760-765-0700

Area Services:Both diesel and gas are available off highway 8 at the Tavern exit. This is about 20 miles from camp. Gas is available in Julian but not diesel.
